Arteficial is a week-long retreat to debate how the arts and crafts provide material to rethink institutions, value, values, and what it means to be human in the contemporary world. The retreat gives participants access to the collection at Palazzo Butera as a source of inspiration for reflecting and debating the most complex challenges of our time. We want together a group of interdisciplinary scholars interested in developing new narratives for a changing world to propose novel models to inhabit a world that is increasingly disordered, fragmented, and incomprehensible.
